Prices of commodities move up in wholesale foodgrain market - Economic Times
CHENNAI: The prices of all commodities moved up in the wholesale foodgrain market during the week under review.

Tur dal opened the week flat at Rs 7,200 per quintal. It rose by Rs 200 to Rs 7,400 on Wednesday to close at the same rate today.

Urad dal and sugar prices increased by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 5,800 and Rs 3,450 over the previous week's closing rates of Rs 5,600 and Rs 3,250, respectively.

Moong dal opened at Rs 7,000 from its previous closing rate of Rs 6,500 and declined by Rs 100 to Rs 6,900 on Wednesday to end the week at same rate, a net gain of Rs 400.

On Monday, wheat opened at Rs 1,900 over its previous price of Rs 1,850 and moved to Rs 2,000 on Wednesday and maintained the same trend till today.

Maida (90 kg) rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1,800 from Rs 1,750 after it traded at various levels during the week.

Sooji (90 kg) went up to Rs 2,050 from Rs 1,950.
