The TV presenter, 28, was seen with her hair in a mess and shadows under her eyes as she lugged a Le Labo bag across a New York Street.

Alexa was wearing a baggy blue jumper and black and white miniskirt for her trip to the stores — not quite the stylish attire we’re used to from her.

Alexa’s famous fashion nose has made her a muse to a string of designers and she frequently appears on best dressed lists.

Mulberry even named a handbag after her.

She also seems to have a thing for hairy rockers. Earlier this month we told how she was accompanied by mop-haired Strokes star Albert Hammond Jr to a private Mulberry dinner party in New York.

Alexa, who ended a four-year relationship with Arctic Monkeys rocker Alex Turner last summer — arrived and left with Albert.

But a source told the New York Post newspaper: “They were adamant that they were not to be in any pictures together.”

The new romance will come as a blow to the mystery man who proposed to her with a giant banner in Bristol.

The sign — roughly as wide as a football goal — appeared on a graffiti-smeared wall of wooden boards and read: "Alexa Chung is a goddess please marry me."

We can only hope Albert has a more chivalrous streak than this unknown suitor. Anna Brown, who lives near the banner, said: "It's not really in the most romantic spot."
